29 April 2020 Depa’s Department of Smart City Promotion, in collaboration with Northeastern District Office, proposed a Khon Kaen Smart City Development Plan to K-City Network Global Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of Korea, an important project of the Korean government In promoting international collaboration and experience sharing in the development of smart cities. Khon Kaen Smart City is considered one out 80 projects submitted for technical assistance support worldwide. This project is supported in two areas, namely the development of Master Plan in the application of digital innovation n and technology, and the adoption of international standards for smart city development which plans to be funded from July 2020 until end of the year.
